Dr. Patel is a
Board Certified Ophthalmologist
with specialty training in corneal and refractive surgery. Receiving his medical degree with cum laude honors in 1994 from Georgetown University School of Medicine, he continued his education with a medical internship at Washington Hospital Center, then completed his ophthalmology residency training at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Patel furthered his training by completing a sub-specialty fellowship in corneal and refractive surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Afterwards, Dr. Patel stayed on at Emory’s world-famous Vision Correction Center, dedicating himself to full-time refractive surgery. Dr. Patel has a special interest in refractive surgery and is active in research in this exciting field.
Dr. Patel is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, International Society of Refractive Surgery, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
